Using a Contract template in Honeybook
/HoneyBook is a cloud-based business management platform that includes tools for invoicing, project management, and client management.
One of the key features of Honeybook is the ability to create and use contract templates, which can save you a lot of time and effort when creating contracts for your clients.
Here's how to use contract templates we provide in Honeybook:
Adding a Contract:
First, select "Create" a contract template (also called a “Smart File”): To create a contract template in Honeybook, you'll want to "Create a new contract." There is a step by step guide on how to do that here.
Copy + Paste your template: Copy the entire body of your contract template (not the title page or the instructions, just the text!) and paste it into the contract template editor.
Customize your template: Once you have pasted your template into Honeybook, you can customize it to suit your needs. Anywhere you see [ BRACKETS ] you'll want to replace information with either (i) information about YOUR business, or (ii) information about YOUR CLIENT. For this, you'll use "smart fields" or "merge fields." To add a Smart Field to your document, simply place your cursor where you want the field to appear, and then click on the "Smart Fields" or "Merge Fields" button in the editor toolbar. From there, you can select the field that you want to add to your document.
Here’s a great video breaking this down:
Save your template: Once you have customized your template, be sure to save it so that you can use it later. To do this, click on "Save as a template" and give your template a name.
Send your contract: Once you have created your contract using your template, you can apply it to a project and send it to your client for review and signature. You can do this directly from Dubsado or Honeybook, or you can download the contract and send it to your client through another e-signature platform.
